Banjo 3 has lots of vehicles

The news that Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts would contain vehicles was received with mixed reception, some liking the idea whilst others wanted to bury their heads in the sand. For better or for worse (depending on your view) Banjo 3 will heavily implement the vehicle system.

Speaking at a community even out on by Rare, head of design Gregg Mayles has this to say:
"Mmm...I would say around 80% vehicles, but just a rough guess. "Banjo gets in and out of the vehicles all the time, but the travelling is done in the vehicles. A lot of the tasks require Banjo to get out and either do something to the vehicles, put something in the vehicles and so on. So you aren't in them all the time, but once you play the game and realise the freedom the vehicles have you will forget that they are vehicles and simply a different way of having abilities, albeit ones that you choose and combine."
Mayles accepts that some of the Banjo fans may find this change from classic banjo platform action to vehicle based adventure hard, he did however ask that they dont write the game off just yet.
"I know it is going to be tough for people to accept the vehicles, especially the old fans, but I believe they make the old games look limited and very outdated. People are always afraid of change. But change for the better is great, which is what I believe this game to be. It's going to take time for people to get it, I know!"
The new game is clearly causing some controversy, some clearly don't like the idea of Rare tinkering with one of their favourite franchises; however, Rare clearly believe in the game, and judging by their track record gamers owe it to them to not write it off just yet. For better or for worse, banjo's vehicles are here to stay .
