Still no 2.40 info

Sony is remaining tight lipped over when it will re-release the firmware 2.40 update.

The update, which adds XMB functionality and Trophies to the Playstation 3 system was released on Wednesday 2nd July but less than 24 hours later it was removed after complaints of bricked consoles and errors starting popping up all over the internet. Sony removed the firmware update and since then we haven't heard anything from them, those lucky enough to have downloaded the update (and not have it kill their console) have been enjoying the new trophy system and XMB whilst those who didnt can only look on enviously (along with those who's systems died).

Sony has refused to comment on the status of the firmware and so far we have no information on when the firmware will re-appear on the Playstation Network.
