Having been live for less than 24 hours, Sony has removed the long awaited 2.40 Firmware update after tons of reports of if causing problems.Problems such as internet dis-connections, laggy XMB and even Bricked consoles have all been reported, with internet forums seemingly inundated with gamers voicing their opinions.
"We're aware that some PS3 users are reporting issues after downloading and installing the 2.40 firmware update onto their system. We are looking into the matter further and will work with our customers to address any related issues they may be experiencing with their PS3 systems."The highest available firmware update now is 2.36, there is no word on when the update will be put back on-line or what happens to the people who already have it downloaded onto their system.
