If Japanese websites are anything to go by then it appears that Mario Kart Wii, the highly awaited sequel in the Mario kart series, will be hitting shelves in Japan on April 10th, followed shortly after by a release date of April 25th for the UK.

This seems very hard to believe, mainly as Nintendo have released very little information about the new game. These dates have yet to be confirmed by Nintendo, whose last official release schedule for the game was Q2 2008.

Whether this is just a rumour or the actual date, the news will no doubt spark huge hype amongst Wii owners world wide.
